Dr Clive Rumberg MBBS BSc
Clive graduated in 1960 and has been a dedicated GP at Knox Medical Centre since 1963. He has seen many changes in the area in that time. He is interested in all aspects of General Practice.
Away from the clinic, Clive is a keen squash player, loves cross-country skiing and hiking.
Dr Kenneth Pyman MBBS FRACGP
Dr Ken Pyman has been a GP at Knox for over 35 years. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages and brings a friendly and diligent manner, believing that a good, trusting patient-doctor relationship helps deliver the best health outcomes. He attends to the full range of problems in general practice, treating children, adults and the elderly. Ken shares his passion for general practice by teaching, mentoring and encouraging the next generation of medical doctors. Outside of medicine, Ken enjoys his family, music and a fulfilling church life and relishes getting out for a good bushwalk or heading to the "G" to cheer on the "Dees" .
Dr Chye Chionh, MBBS
Dr Chionh has been a general practitioner for more than 40 years and is a life member of the RACGP. He has a special interest in respiratory and cardiac patients and aged care. Away from work, he has an interest in gardening and music.
Dr Andrey Butrev MBBS FRACGP
Dr Butrev graduated from medical school in 1996 and spent several years working in the hospital settings overseas and in Australia. He completed General Practice Training in Australia in 2010 and has been working as a GP in Gippsland where he was involved in a training of junior doctors. He also practices in Frankston. He has a broad range of skills and has specific interest in cosmetic medicine. He speaks English, Greek and Russian Languages.
Dr Win Naing MBBS FRACGP
Since graduation in 2005, Win has had wide range of hospital and general practice experience for more than 10 years. He spent about 3 years working as a hospital doctor in Gippsland (Traralgon) and Monash Health. Then he went into general practice training in Gippsland (Sale, Wonthaggi and Lang Lang). He joined Knox Medical Centre in 2016. In addition to his clinical work, he is regularly involved in academic activities with RACGP , AMC (Australian Medical Council) and AGPT( Australian GP Training). He is a current examiner with RACGP and AMC.
Dr Freya Schmidt MBBS
Freya Schmidt graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1986. She subsequently completed a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1989 and then started General Practice Training, completing the Family Medicine program in 1993. She has worked at Knox Medical Centre since the early 1990’s.
She has interests in Women’s health, Preventative care and working with people to make lifestyle changes to maximize their well-being.
Outside work, she enjoys watching her children play sport, travelling, swimming, reading and is currently learning to speak Korean.
Dr Shinta Tjandra MBBS MMed. (Paed) (Registrar)
Dr. Tjandra graduated from medical school in 1995, did her internship and worked overseas as a GP before coming to Australia in 2000 to take up a postgraduate study from University of Melbourne. After her graduation with a Master of Medicine degree in 2002, she pursued further training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in paediatrics and child health. Although she has a broad workplace experience in paediatrics and acute/ emergency medicine, she has developed special interests in developmental medicine, allergies, asthma, skin conditions, tropical/ travel medicine and community mental health. She loves art, music and travelling in her spare time, and speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Indonesian/Malay.
Dr Samuel Schlegel MBBS (Registrar)
Following his graduation from Monash University in 2018, Sam spent several years working at Monash Health across different specialty teams including geriatrics, palliative care, paediatrics, psychiatry and various other medical, emergency and surgical units. These specialty areas, in addition to preventative medicine, now make up Sam’s main areas of interest. He also enjoys the satisfaction of a well-sutured wound.
Some of Sam’s passions include playing soccer, supporting Liverpool FC, hikes, mountain biking and involvement in his local church.
Our practice was established over 50 years ago and has been providing excellent medical care since. We are committed to continue and further improve this service, allocate our time to our patients and their families and look after the local community.

- Sam is a GP registrar from Eastern Victoria GP Training. He is a fully qualified doctor who has extensive experience as a hospital doctor for several years and now dedicated his career to become a GP.
